LAST day before winter break!!!
We took a chapter test, and it was okay, I guess. After that, we did some activities finding the areas of specific shapes and random shapes. It was lots of work but not fun thing to do in class. Those activities helped us get an idea of what we were going to learn: RAM, Rectangular Approximation Method.
There are three ways to measure the area under the curve or line: LRAM(left), MRAM(Middle), RRAM(right). They were not difficult to measure, but took some time to compute. We do not know which one is most accurate, because it depends on the shape of graphs. But, in my opinion, MRAM is the more accurate than the other twos. While LRAM and RRAM can be overestimation or underestimation, MRAM is the middle! But, I am not sure yet, and we are going to learn more after winter break.
Doing many activities was fun and it was perfect for the week right before Christmas.
My participation in doing activities was good. I especially concentrated on drawing and counting grids to measure the area of the weird shape on the worksheet.
Mr. Cresswell, happy Christmas and see you two weeks later!!
