I am not a reader. Kids are exposed to books and as soon as they learn how to read characters, they learn to read. People read books because books are interesting, people can learn a proper language, and they become smart by obtaining knowledge as well as grammars and phrases. Foremost, good readers have to enjoy reading and they shouldn't be just followed by what the author says. When they read fiction, they should be able to guess what's going to happen next. When they read argumentative writing, they should be able to accept the author's idea and also criticize some of the points the author made.
I really liked reading from preschool to the sixth grade. But, after I entered middle school, I was crazy about a Korean band and I started watching television everyday and went to a private academic institute every day (it's really common in Korea). I got busier and I found other interest than reading. So, reading is not easy at all nowadays, but I like short fairy tales and the books that convey life lessons. I prefer talking, hanging out, watching television, eating, and sleeping to reading. So, when I try to read books for a set time, I want to do other activities, which is the hardest part of reading for me. I don’t like horror movies or fantasies but I think most of American books have weird and creepy covers. Those scare me! So, I pick the books that have normal picture cover or just letters. I like dynamic stories that I have never thought of or warm-hearted story. I don’t read books at home but I read books when I have to do SSR. In general, reading is such a good activity!!!!! I really believe so because readers can use advanced sentences and reading helps to be a good thinker.
I am a writer. While attending elementary school, I needed to answer to the questions in the textbook and I made my own sentences. People write to express their thoughts and to persuade and entertain other people. When people first start writing, the sentences look awkward and don’t flow well. However, as they read good books and practice writing lots of times, their writing will get better. I like to write letters to someone I feel grateful to or someone that I want to help. Argumentative writing is boring for me, but letters can encourage, invigorate, and express my gratefulness to people around me. Letters make both the writer and the receiver happy. What’s going on recently determines what to write, such as world issues and events that are happening around me. From my junior year, I write one essay every other day until November of 2014. I practiced writing argumentative essays for the TOEFL (test of English as a foreign language) for such a long time. I am sick of writing now……. I don’t write much at home, I like handwriting better than typing though. I am happy that I can write because some countries don’t have written letters (characters).
